CUKC

Carleton University Kayak Club

By | | No Comments

I designed and built the Carleton University Kayak Club website using WordPress as the back-end framework.

Although the main component of the website was content management (CMS), additional functionality was implemented. These added features allow people to sign up for lessons and trips as well as subscribe to the CUKC newsletter. There is a great focus around HTML5/ CSS3 techniques such as CSS shadows, gradients and fading as well as ajax requests for form submissions.

CUKC.ca won the SnippetFact.com Kayaking Web Award.

BabyDoze is a recording of a womb that comforts babies and helps them sleep. I made the website, Android app and iOS app.

The website is designed to operate on any sized screen and will reformat itself accordingly. It is designed using HTML5 and CSS3 while still being backwards compatible. The back-end of the site uses WordPress as a CMS (content management system).

The Android and iOS apps were developed to play the womb sound. The sound was also made available on CD through Amazon, CD Baby and iTunes.

The Carleton University Scuba Diving Association (CUSDA) is a relatively new club at the university. As the webmaster of the club I created the website they required. The website was built using wordpress as a CMS for ease of editing and adding content both in the present and in future years.

I also created the logo. The logo is a scuba diving mask with the Carleton Raven in it.
